Lesson Learned: Sometimes it pays to hire a professional…. especially when it comes to your plumbing needs!
We were so excited to finally own a house that needed a little bit of work. With our love of food and cooking, we just HAD to have an updated kitchen! Brilliant idea…remodel the most expensive room in the house on a small budget with having a 5 month old to tend to. Oh and work full time etc.
First…rent books from library on plumbing, electrical and tiling. Second, skim them and then skim the web. OK, we are ready. We dug right in, ripped out the cabinets, dug up the floor, the whole shebang. Time to move the plumbing from one wall to the island. Side note…can you believe that this house had all the appliances on one wall! An island in the center and then nothing on the other wall. You bump into each other non stop trying to cook or do dishes or just get into the frig.
Our plan was to move the sink and dishwasher to the island; keeping the other appliances on the back wall and then build out the other wall with cabinets.
Floor is open and we stare down at the plumbing. Uhhhh, what do we do next???….Call Jack with J. Blanton Plumbing! Within a couple hours, Jack was here, told us what we got ourselves into, gave us a estimate and in two days they had 3 guys here and plumbing work all done.
Yeah so we chickened out or in our defense, ran out of time. 
It took 3 guys about 8 hours to get the project done. Would have taken us 3 weeks!
Huge relief because we are 100% sure the plumbing is done correct. Wish we would have planned having J. Blanton take care of the project from the beginning, but we have to learn the hard way. Sharing this with you so you don’t have to. OR if you need a good honest plumber, call Jack, him and his son rock!
